This week
HIGH PRIEST
We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.
HEBREWS 6:19,20 (ESV)
During the times of the Law (Mosaic Law) beginning in the Old Testament, the Jewish people were required to burn and/or bring a sacrifice/burnt offering to the priests in order to make a covering for their sins. This was not meant as a permanent solution for covering the people sins. After all, the priests themselves needed their sins paid for! The killing of lambs was repeatedly necessary as sins were repeatedly being committed. Now God has provided a once, for all time sacrifice for sins, through His own sacrifice. Jesus is the final High Priest for those who have repented and put their trust in Him.
Are you ready to meet Him after you die? If you are not ready, don’t know,(or don’t even care), Take the good person test (or watch it here) and find out how to be ready(and why it matters)–before it’s too late. None of us are promised tomorrow.
