Is Microsoft a Hate group?

Microsoft embraces sin

Like many liberal organizations, it would appear that Microsoft has bowed to the altar of hate by hating God and loving sin through their blatant backing of the LGBTQI community. On the Microsoft store website they ask, what actions will you take? Throughout the site is various computer related merchandise with the goal to promote LGBTQI sin. (Note: the LGBTQI promoted merchandise and action site has since been removed – see screenshot above)

You might be asking why is this hate? And the simple answer is because Microsoft has chosen to dishonor and hate God Creator of the Universe, His laws but instead love their sin and the sins of others. But they don’t stop there. They go on to promote their hatred of God and love of their sin and the LGBTQI sins by running a campaign about it on their store and website.

Imagine the uproar if Microsoft or Google had embraced God’s holiness and righteousness on their website such as they have with sin.

We are all lawbreakers

It’s important to note that we all have the same desires to sin and have broken God’s law (sinned against a holy God).

Romans 3: 10-18
There is none righteous, no, not one;
There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God.
They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no, not one."
" Their throat is an open tomb; With their tongues they have practiced deceit"; " The poison of asps is under their lips";
" Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness."
" Their feet are swift to shed blood;
Destruction and misery are in their ways;
And the way of peace they have not known."
" There is no fear of God before their eyes."

And spiritually speaking the unregenerate heart is even hostile to God. In fact, that’s the main point of why we are in desperate need of deliverance. God is holy but we are not and cannot enter heaven without a Deliverer. If you haven’t already, check out the good person test and if you are super bold read the book of John in the Bible. You may not have tomorrow.

There are many lights in the world – Which light are you following?

The Spider

It was nighttime and I found a spider on the ceiling at one end of a room at my house. It was slowing making it’s way to the other side of the room when I wondered what might be of interest on the opposite side of the room. Instead going across the floor or along the edge where the ceiling and wall meet, it was venturing out across the middle of the ceiling. Then I noticed a lamp was on in the corner while the rest of the room remained dark. Now it’s true I don’t know for sure what the spider had in mind but could it have been that the spider thought the lamp was a sun or a heat source and it was headed for that light?

Many lights

Of course, you and I know the lamp wasn’t the sun because it was a lamp. Today there are many lights in the world but only one real Light. There is One who calls Himself the Light of the world.
Have you ever considered if you are following a false light or the true Light? Jesus Christ claims to be the only Light that anyone should be following but with so many voices telling us to follow them it can be difficult and confusing to know which is the right one. In fact it is something each person much examine for them-self. I can point you in a direction I believe to be true but ultimately you and I must make up our own minds about who God is. (Did I say this was easy?)

The Good Teacher

Many people believe Jesus was a good person and a good teacher. But could this really be true if He was lying about who He is? If He was deceiving the people with His Words about claiming to be God of the Universe, why should He be trusted at all? In addition, the writers of the Gospels and of other Scriptures of the Bible claim Jesus was God and the Creator of everything. In fact, scripture says He holds everything together! (See Colossians 1:17)

Trouble Ahead

Unfortunately for many, as is with the tail of the spider, their ending isn’t very pleasant.

Now the spider did not know the trouble it was about to encounter as it crawled toward the light in the corner of the room. On the way, the spider passed directly over a cat perch with a very curious cat inches below! Now it’s true cats tend to sleep a lot but being that it was night this cat was wide awake and ready for adventure (or at least playtime). Little did the spider know that this cat had been tracking him the entire time until just the right moment when the giant beast could reach up with his two front furry paws and take a swat! The cat didn’t miss and the spider fell from the ceiling and then it was on! Except it really wasn’t on for very long because the spider, being so little and the cat being so large, didn’t have the greatest of chances for survival from the get-go (unless there was someone to save it from the cats mouth or it had somewhere to hide of course!)

Yeah he’s pretty fierce… or was that a yawn?

Right now, if you are seeking a light (or haven’t even thought about if you are or are not ) but the light it isn’t the real light there will be eternal consequences after you die.

The spider may or may not have sought the lamp thinking it was the sun but it died nevertheless. Humanly speaking however the very unpleasant truth is that Jesus speaks about the reality of a hell that many will find themselves in if they are not seeking the right light.

God is Holy

God is perfect and holy and He must punish sin wherever it is found. Sin is the breaking of His law (such as the Ten Commandments). Who hasn’t lied, looked with lust (Jesus says looking at a woman to lust after her is the same as committing adultery of the heart)? Who has always put God first in their life or used God’s name as a cuss word? And God considers hatred of a brother the same as murder of the heart. Those are just few commandments but nobody (besides God) can honestly claim to have kept God’s law. We have All been condemned by God’s perfect standard and are headed for hell for breaking His commands….. unless there is real way of escape.

Way of Escape

And there is way to escape hell. Only One way. God is the Savior and the Light we need to be seeking. He paid the penalty for us breaking His Law. God Himself came to earth and paid the penalty for sin. In John 1 it says God was the Word and the Word became flesh. Jesus Christ is the Word who walked in a human body as the sinless perfect sacrifice for our sins.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 He was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. John 1:1-5

Jesus died on the cross taking the full judgment for sin we deserve and after three days in the grave rose from the dead defeating death and judgment in hell.

To enter heaven one must repent of our sins and put our trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation from judgment to come.

God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. Romans 5:8,9

“For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” John 3:17,18

Subnautica wins 2018 PC Game of the Year

subnautica

It’s no secret that Subnautica is a popular game but is there more to this game than alien creatures?

Could Subnautica share some allegorical tones with Christianity in our world today?  Let’s take a closer look at the game that won PC game of the year for 2018.

Important note: This post contains spoilers

Subnautica is an underwater survival game in which you, the player, have crash landed on an alien planet.  The planet is filled with alien sea creatures–some scary and some cute and friendly while others are downright deadly.

In a similar way, the earth we live on is filled with people, some of which are hostile to others, mean and outright murderous.  And still many people are genuinely nice, friendly and trustworthy.  For a Christian, we know the hostility many face is because of our simple belief and trust in the God of the Bible—namely Jesus Christ.

Infected

Within Subnautica a bacterium (known as the Kharaa bacterium) has infected the planet’s inhabitants, alien life, including you the player, and apparently has become part of the ecosystem of the make-believe planet known as Planet 4546B.

In Genesis from the Bible we learn that the day Adam and Eve disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden, sin entered our world and has infected all of mankind.  (Sin in our world is the breaking of God’s law (the Ten Commandments)).

In Subnautica the primary goal’s are to find a cure for the Kharaa bacterium and ultimately leave the planet (since it’s not your real home).

Today, the world needs a cure for sin otherwise they will be facing God on Judgment when they die without their sin fixed and taken care of.  To the Christian, earth is not a permanent home because heaven is our ultimate hope.

Deliverance

In Subnautica, the planet’s inhabitants need a savior–someone to rescue it from the doom it is facing.  You the player, also need to be rescued.

In real life, we each find ourselves (whether we admit to it or not) in far worse predicament.  Since God is holy and perfect He cannot have sin in his presence which means no sinful person can be in His presence without being consumed by His judgment.  Sort of like a dry leaf being consumed by fire. And as a good judge must punish a lawbreaker God must deal with our breaking His laws. God being just and righteous means He must punish sin wherever it is found. Ever broke God’s law?  Let’s see.  Ever lied?  Stolen something? Hated someone?  God views human hatred as murder.  Lusted? Jesus said to look with lust is the same as adultery (see Matthew 5:28).  Ever used God’s name as a cuss word? Hitler and Muhammad names are not even hated as much to be used as a cuss word.  To use God’s name to express disgust is blasphemy.  The point is, we All have sinned by breaking God’s perfect holy law and need someone who hasn’t sinned to save us from judgment in hell.

In the game Subnautica, a rescue attempt is made by the spacecraft Sunbeam. As the Sunbeam descends onto the alien planet it is immediately destroyed, killing all the crew on board.

To me this valiant attempt at rescue by the Sunbeam could be looked as in similar terms as current world religions and people groups who try to persuade people to believe anything but what is true about God, the Bible and Jesus.  They come with a message full of a different Jesus or no Jesus at all but the results are the same. Their effort is to deny, suppress or ignore who God really is and the reality of our sinful offense against God Himself.

Hope

As there should be in any great game, there is a hope in Subnautica but it has nothing to do with God, Jesus or the Bible.  A large sea creature called the Sea Emperor and something known as Enzyme 42 is where you will find this hope. The Sea Emperor is the only source of Enzyme 42 and ends up dying while her young hatch and save the planet (and you).  They hold the cure to saving the infected planet.

In real life, God is the only one who can save mankind from coming judgment against sin.  God paid the penalty of our breaking His law through Jesus Christ.  Jesus, God manifest in the flesh, took the punishment for sin by dying on a cross.  While we cannot fully understand God’s sacrifice for our sin or what He went through and the love He has for us (since He’s God and we’re not) we do know he rose again after three days.  Jesus’ in completing the payment for sin was raised from the grave which ultimately  demonstrated His love for all who believe in Him. So Jesus defeated death (punishment in hell), sin and judgment for all who repent and trust in Him.  Do you know where you are going after you die?

He was despised and forsaken of men, A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; And like one from whom men hide their face He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
Surely our griefs He Himself bore, And our sorrows He carried; Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, Smitten of God, and afflicted.
But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed.
All of us like sheep have gone astray, Each of us has turned to his own way; But the LORD has caused the iniquity of us all To fall on Him.   (Isaiah 53:3-6)

1 Person You Can Trust

1. Jesus Christ

Jesus is the one person you can trust.  In fact, He is the only one who can provide peace with God and because He is God manifest in the flesh (God incarnate) He could pay (and satisfy) the penalty for our breaking God’s moral law (the Ten Commandments) and is therefore the only One who can save from coming judgment in hell.

Do you know Him?

How Overrated is Subnautica?

subnautica

Is Subnautica an overrated game?  Of course.  And generally speaking, glowing reviews surround Subnautica despite poor optimization, massive texture pop-in, and inexplicable frame-rate drops, Subnautica gets promoted as one of the best games in existence. Recently it made the number eight spot for PC Gamers top 100 games on Steam.  No mention of the poor optimization,  studders or random textural pop-in.

The Good

Now let me be clear. Is Subnautica a fun game? The short answer is yes.  Is Subnautica a beautiful rendered game world? Yes it is.  It has great visuals and territory to explore at your own pace.  Love games like this.  We call these sand boxy or open-world type games.  Subnautica solely an open world game though because it does follow a story if you wish to progress in the game and upgrade your equipment. (Although there is a free build and explore mode in the menu)

The Not-so-good

And yet after the glowing reviews have settled down one cannot ignore the seemingly random frame drops and studders regardless of the graphic settings one chooses.  I tested this out too. After 40 hours of game-play I chose low, medium and high graphical settings and I got the same result–random studdering at various locations with a mix of random  low and high frame-rate each time.  Load the game again and the studdering would occur in a different place than the previous time I played.  Why?  I hadn’t changed anything.

Another twist

Subnautica also has another (albeit most likely unintentional) feature most people might not realize.  Intentional or not, Subnautica might just well share some allegorical tones with Christianity.  Let’s take a closer look.

Have you seen it? Audacity is a movie you don’t want to miss out on watching

If you haven’t heard about it, there is a great film out that tackles some highly controversial issues within society today.   Without spoiling the movie, a central issue confronted in the movie is homosexuality.  This film does not gloss over the issues involved which I find refreshing especially in a day where being political correct is on so many of our minds.   It also features the best news one can ever know.  You will not want to miss Audacity and please share it with others.

P.S. I recommend watching Audacity in fullscreen mode
