FAITHFUL AND TRUE WITNESS
“And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write, ‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning[Source] of the creation of God:
REVELATION 3:14 (NKJV)
Here Jesus is referred to as the Faithful and True Witness. A reliable witness will not lie. Someone who is faithful can be trusted. Often the words of Jesus are hard to hear such as His proclaimation (in John 8) as being God Himself. It was considered blasphemeous by the Jews to make such an outrageous claim. This is what Jesus claimed and it cost Him His life. No man can call himself God. But Jesus was no mere man. And if Jesus is God, the Faithful and True Witness, His words are true and we better heed them.
